We’re absolutely thrilled to hear Parisian producer Wealstarr is back with new material. As with ‘Piu Piu’ from his previous EP, ITB2, this unique talent’s latest cut, ‘Macarana’, confronts us with a mutant and profoundly psychedelic strain of House. Blending a Baile Funk-inspired vocal hook, elements of Congolese dance music, glistening space-age synths and a throbbing rhythm section, the eclectic style of ‘Maracana’ is typical of his recently released EP, ITB3, which manifests as a celebration of multiculturalism, bringing together disparate global genres (and hopefully peoples) into a multifaceted yet cohesive whole. This celebration of multiculturism is also reflected in the lo-fi video for ‘Macarana’, paying tribute to Congolese music legend General Defao and his fabled dance moves.
